I need to point to things on my iPad so students can see what I’m tapping.

Shouldn’t I just use my document camera and put the iPad under the document Camera so they can see what I’m tapping?

You could, but your iPad is already a document camera anyway. Do you really want another piece of equipment in front of you if it isn’t necessary?

The iPads have a fantastic feature called Assistive Touch built in that allows you to point to things on your iPad screen while you sharing Content on your screen with the students. It works like a pointer on the iPad. It was designed for Accessibility for people who can’t press the Home button, but it makes an amazing pointer!

NOTE: On top of that, it is a secret button that can let you do all kinds of cool things when you tap on it.  I customize my Magic Button, I mean Assistive Touch button, to have Screen Recording and Screen Capture. Now I can easily tap the button and then tap the button on need quickly.
