I’m sorry the photos are formatted weirdly.
One of the few things I did over break was rewatch one of my favorite shows from when I was younger. It’s called “Fetch! With Ruff Ruffman” and, I hope a lot of people already know what this is but, it’s about an animated dog who hosts a game show. It kind of always blew my mind because the contestants on the game show were real people but Fetch was animated and they would have conversations where he would tell them what their challenges were for the day.

Anyway, the best season of this show was season one, which aired in 2006, and after watching it recently, I wondered where all of the contestants, the kids I grew up watching and rewatching, were now. So, I think I’m going to take this time to tell you about the contestant and then attempt to research what they are doing now.
First I will begin with the girl in the pink, named Julia Millstein. She was a super chill contestant but you could tell she put a lot of effort into whatever she was doing. Thanks to Fetch with Ruff Ruffman Wiki, I found that her birthday is in September of 1992, making her 30 years old, which is crazy because she has always been 12 to me. I’ll let the Wiki describe her because they said it best:

Clearly, she has very big ambitions. Even in an episode of season one, she becomes a dentist’s assistant for the day as her challenge.
A little clueless about where to begin first, I went on IMDB and found that she had one acting credit: Fetch with Ruff Ruffman. However, the second search result leads to a Twitter account under her name and if you can’t read (?) then you will notice that she has become a professor at UCSF. I also found a tweet she retweeted about a lecture she was giving titled “Electronic Connectivity between Hospital Pairs: Impact on ED Utilization”. I don’t really understand what this means but it looks and sounds important. Her Twitter seems to be the best resource, from what I can tell, unfortunately, she is not on Instagram.

Next, I am going to look into my favorite contestant from season 1, Khalil. Here is some brief information about Khalil.

When googling his name, you find that he went to Amherst College and got his bachelor’s in Theater and Dance. His Linkedin page is extensive and details many of his internships, jobs, and membership of SAG-AFTRA (screen actors guild). However, his LinkedIn information stops in April of 2021. Unlike Julia, Khalil is active on Instagram. In his bio, you can see that he lives in Brooklyn and has the acronym AMF. This stands for “All My Friends” which is, according to an article written in April 2022 published by Amherst College, “a creative agency where [Khalil] is developing musicians and booking shows”. He also has his Spotify linked where makes “w33kly” playlists. I looked through them a bit and I didn’t know any of the songs but I did accidentally click one during my third-period class and it started playing full volume so.
Next is Noah who is “a risky and adventurous boy. He can do stunts on dirt bikes 🚴🏼 and once saved a turkey 🦃 from a coyote. He wants to be either a whale 🐋 doctor 👨⚕️, forest 🌳 ranger or pro skateboarder.” He also finished second place in the show. I feel like out of all the contestants, he had the most potential to get involved in a completely random career. From what I gather after an initial google search is that he is a model. I found his resume so see for yourself what he has been up to.

I found his Instagram but his account is private, sadly.
I’m running out of time and I don’t want to make you guys read a million-word blog post so I’m just going to speedrun the rest of the contestants and share only the most interesting information.
Taylor Avery Garron: Collects rubber ducks, likes sewing, cotton candy, granny smith apples, and cotton candy. She currently (2023) writes for Vulture and just recently guest starred on the golden globe winning show Abbott Elementary.

Brian McGoff: He likes tubing and hates asparagus and speaks french. His Twitter handle is @Brianfrom_Fetch which is a little concerning because it was almost 20 years ago but his most recent tweet is from 2013, so maybe he’s moved on. I would not recommend looking at his Twitter because it’s a little problematic. I think currently he works at Dalrada which is an “American technology and manufacturing company”. Here is the link to his page if you feel inclined to look: https://dalrada.com/brian-mcgoff/
Anna Sheridan: I unintentionally saved the best for last because she won season 1 of Fetch! With Ruff Ruffman. She has some amazing, advanced math skills and her favorite book is The Giver by Lois Lowry. Around a year after she won, she starred in one episode of a show called “The Amazing Extraordinary Friends”. With such a generic name it was a little hard to find, but I’m about 90% sure she has become an interior and prop stylist who lives in London. Her account is actually pretty cool and right now I think she is in Guatemala.

I have no idea what I will do with this information but it was pretty interesting to look into and I am glad they are all doing well.
Lauren,
B.L.T. for Breakfast can really bring out people’s deepest, darkest secrets, including Kahlil’s favorite smell, which appears to be a BLT sandwich. For me, I would have to say that my favorite smell is not BLT but the smell of a campfire instead. I wonder if B.L.T. for Breakfast would have revealed that also. Apart from Kahlil, Noah seems like an interesting fellow. How does one come to the conclusion that they want to be a whale doctor or a forest ranger? While it is good to see that all of the contestants on this show are doing good, it is a little sad to see them all change professions. It is interesting to see how childhood dreams almost never come true. I just hope that these former contestants are doing as well as their social media says they are. If they are all around 30 years old, that would mean they are coming up on some pretty big life decisions like buying a house (if they have not already bought one), settling down (if they want to get married or have kids, or both). Because of this, I just hope that they will be as resilient as they were on the show (I have never watched the whole thing, just bits, and pieces).
Hi Lauren! When I first read the title of your blog, I was a bit confused. “Fetch! With Ruff Ruffman” is a show I have never watched before. I grew up watching shows such as “The Berenstain Bears”, “Martha Speaks”, and pretty much any show that was airing on Disney Channel. This show is one that is completely new to me. What channel was this show on? Was it one you liked to watch with your sister? I found it extremely interesting when you made your point about how you always thought of one of the characters as being twelve, but in reality she is now thirty. I can not tell you how often I experience this realization as well. This happened to mee the other day after seeing an instagram post from Mia Talerico who played Charlie in Good Luck Charlie. I find it crazy how we trick yourself into believing that these characters don’t grow up. This also makes me feel extremely old even though in reality we are only eighteen years old. What other shows did you grow up watching? Also if you were to go back and be a part of this show what challenge would you like to be a part of?
