A Weekend in Florida

Hello and welcome back to my blog! This past week I went to Florida with some of my best friends. It’s super cheesy but we call ourselves the Quadruplets. It is me, Maizy Spreitzer, Joanna Cho, and Evette Aslanski. I absolutely love Florida, but I love spending time with these girls even more. Today, I am going to walk you through the trip and everything we did- you can use it as an itinerary for spring break if you want!

So, on Thursday, we flew out of Midway at 4:30! Now, something about me is that I hate planes. I feel helpless and afraid every time I get on one, but all

of my friends can testify that I was pretty calm. I didn’t even cry. Anyways, we landed in Florida at about 8:30pm and then got to the house at about 9:00pm. The first thing we did was tour the house and choose which rooms everyone wanted. Joanna and I roomed together and I was very happy about that because Maizy snores way too much. Next, all went into the kitchen and took out all of the food in the fridge. We had a hodge podge meal of soup, mac and cheese, croissants, and McDonalds. Then, we ended the night by going swimming in the 85 degree weather.

Friday morning, we went straight to Starbucks and the lady gave me my drink for free. I am not sure why, but I very much appreciated it. Then, we went to an outdoor mall and went shopping for a while. Afterwards, we stopped home for lunch and changed into dressy clothes, because apparently you have to be dressed up to go into downtown Naples? I am glad downtown Naperville is not like that. Around 8:30, we headed to a sushi restaurant and oh boy was that something. Right when we walked in, there were strobe lights, a DJ with the volume over 100, and way too many people. I am not sure we would go there again but it was definitely an experience.

On Saturday morning, we woke up really early to go to a farmers market. It was the most beautiful farmers market I had ever been to. There was everything from sushi, to pasta, gyros, olive oil, soap, bagels, and beignets. We even met a guy from Naperville! After the farmers market, we went

back home and swam all afternoon. We then went back into downtown Naples and ate at a restaurant called Vergina. It was an Italian restaurant with, yet again, another DJ in the back! This dinner was a fancy one because it was meant to celebrate both Evette and I’s birthday. The restaurant had the coolest heads of cotton candy that they gave to people for birthdays. It is not something you see everyday! We then got ice cream after dinner, because Evette says Naples ice cream is the best and that it was. We went to a sort of ma-and-pa shop and their selections were massive.

By Sunday morning, Joanna and I’s room was a mess, the bathroom cluttered, and there was too much food in the fridge for us to ever finish. But, we had one day left and we were going to make it a good one. Sunday morning, we woke up and went to a European brunch restaurant. And instead of getting coffee there, my friends got Starbucks coffee instead (it just does not add up?). Anyways, after brunch we went straight to the beach. We had a cooler packed and clothes to change into, and we stayed there all day. I think Sunday was my favorite day. We swam at the beach and then watched the sunset. We also took about a thousand photos along the way. Once we got home, we all showered and packed up our suitcases. We then ate all the leftovers in the fridge and watched our favorite movie, The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants. Although this movie is not the best film ever made, we like it because we relate the characters’ friendships to our own. I love the sentimental sides we all have.

Finally, Monday morning we flew home! It was a short trip but a great getaway. Times like this remind me that we are all going to college next year and I want to hold onto these girls as long as I can. Bye!
