I’m all about munching when the time comes. Whether at night or right after school, I immediately search for a snack if I get a ping of hungriness. So let me tell all of you the best snacks that have been proven(by me) to completely eradicate all hunger. Let me explain the mountain of snacks.
Dot’s Pretzels may very well be the best snack I’ve ever had or it is in my top 5 at least. I’m not generally a big pretzel guy as I think it is bland, but Dot’s Pretzels are just fantastic in every aspect. The taste of just one Dot’s Pretzel creates this unimaginable craving for more until you lose count of the pretzels and you start
to wonder whether your obsession with these pretzels is healthy. With Dot’s Pretzels, there’s a multitude of flavors, but you mustn’t choose the honey mustard flavor. That flavor is just downright horrendous when it comes to how Dots made them. The original Flavor is the best flavor and carries a punch that will knock out your taste buds. If you are feeling more sweet than savory, try their cinnamon sugar brand. That stuff is dangerous when paired up with the original flavor. Mix those two up in a bowl and have a party in your mouth with each pretzel. Another plus of these pretzels is that you don’t have to do any cooking and you can still munch quite easily.
However, not everyone likes pretzels and if Dots can’t change their mind, goldfish is the next best option. The amount of options that exist with goldfish means that anyone will find a flavor that suits their taste buds. Personally, I’m a huge fan of regular goldfish and even like it better than the flavor-blasted
goldfish. The way that it has the perfect amount of salt and still tastes somewhat cheesy makes it an all-time great when it comes to snacks. However, the flavor-blasted goldfish is the most popular among humans. The way the eater can taste even more cheese and have the option of licking their fingers afterward makes this type of goldfish all the more delectable. People can say it is unhygienic, but can they say they tasted true happiness in the form of cheese powder? I thought not, so next time you visit a store, you better pick up goldfish. You can get it in packets, bigger packets, and even a box.
Next on this mountain of all-time great snacks is the gusher. Gushers are everything fruit snacks are, but provide that extra gush that pleases every eater. I’ve seen countless children scream in happiness when they see gushers in the snack aisle and I can confidently say that I scream inside when I see the gushers. I love gushers with all of my heart which is also why I only get gushers once a month. Otherwise, I wouldn’t be able to stop myself from consuming pure
happiness. Also, with gushers, I love how some packets are multicolored while others are just red. This allows the eater to be surprised with each packet and also leaves them in suspense when they move on to the next one. The one problem with these gushers is that they are pure sugar. But that is a silly problem when compared to the greatness of what fruit snacks wanted to be. Gushers are every little kid’s dream snack and whenever I have just one, the little kid in me feels happy. I may be a little obsessed with them, but they also give me a nice pump if I eat them before I go to the gym.
These three snacks make up my Mount Rushmore. What is more important, snacks or the presidents? If it were my choice, I would replace the faces of the presidents and carve these three snack symbols into greatness. I know there will be people who will try to argue with this, but I also feel like I have enough firepower with each of my snacks to repel their evil thoughts. Now my question to you readers is which snack would you add to complete this Mount Rushmore? Remember, it has to be on par with the three I mentioned otherwise the value of this Mount Rushmore will plummet.
Hi Vishal.
I have an issue with your take on different Dot’s Pretzel’s flavors. My sister is like you, she loves the original flavor. She told me that last summer, she’d finish a bag a week. While this isn’t insane to me since I love pretzels–flavored or not, she’s an avid pretzel hater so when she said she’d been eating pretzels on the regular, I was shocked. I was immensely excited to try them out. Imagine my disappointment when the original flavor was terrible. I don’t know what I expected or wanted, but the taste of fake butter definitely was not it. When I saw the honey mustard flavor in Jewel, I decided to give the brand another shot. I absolutely loved those, but that’s not much of a surprise since I also enjoy the Snyder’s of Hanover’s honey mustard pieces. My point is, you’re completely wrong about which Dot’s flavors suck. Even though we differ on this point, we agree on the rest of the snacks you’ve decided to list. I don’t think I’d have Goldfish or Gushers in my top three, but I do like both of them. If I had to give my own Mount Rushmore it’d probably be Cheeto Puffs, Tomato Pretz, and Corn Ice Cream.
Hi Vishal! Just to kick this off, your blog post reminded me I had Mandelorean themed goldfish in my bag! So thank you very much for that, because I am now eating said goldfish as I write out your blog response. I can relate to snacking on a deep level — I love me a good snack. Personally, I tend to lean on the sweeter side of snacking – I love chocolate dipped berries, granola bars, trail mix, dark chocolate… really, any kind of snack with chocolate. Shocker to no one. I love the name dropped pretzel brand, though! I want to say that the Dot’s pretzels are the same ones my grandfather buys whenever we go down to visit him, so they’re super nostalgic for me. If you ever want to try a different brand of pretzel (you totally don’t have to, obviously, but in case you want to), there are these gluten free (stay with me) pretzels my mom gets from the Mejier that I actually love so much. I have no idea what the name of the brand is, but it’s a pretty generic white and turquoise bag. They are honestly really good, even being gluten free. Thank you so much for sharing Vishal!!
Hi Vishal,
Here I will first address your final question of how I would complete this Mount Rushmore. I think I have many different answers, all depending on which evaluative criteria you weight the most.
For the versatility of the quartet of snacks, you likely want to add a new flavor distinct and unique from the fruity splash of Gushers, the cheesy quality of a flavor-blasted Goldfish, and the flavorful punch of a Dots Pretzel. If you have a fourth flavor that is too similar to one of the three already in your top tier, then it becomes redundant. For my Linear Algebra people, this is like adding a new vector to complete a span.
On this count, I am picking Munch Peanut Butter Brittle Bites. You can find them at your local Wal-Mart or other grocery store chain. I think of your Mount Rushmore trio thus far, you’re missing nuts. You need nuts in any lineup of classic snacks, whether it be trail mix or some other nutty bar. They are indispensable for the completeness of any good pantry, in my opinion. With these peanut butter brittle, you get crunchiness and the peanut buttery flavor.. I think you get sweetness, but not to the extent of candied snacks or the Gushers already in your set. Peanut butter is lighter and more proteinaceous. You also get the texture of a chip or a pretzel.
I love munching on these. I hope everyone gives this snack a munch.
