The best American Supercars

For my car-related blog post this week I decided to research a niche area of the automotive world; American Supercars. The term “supercar” is often associated with European brands such as Ferrari, Lamborghini, Mclaren, and Bugatti, but the United States also has its fair share of high-performance, high-end automobiles. In recent years, American supercars have gained a reputation for being some of the most powerful impressive, and unique supercars in the world. Here are five of the best American supercars currently on the market.

The first car I wanted to discuss is the modern Ford GT. The Ford GT is arguably the most iconic American supercar of all time, and the latest iteration lives up to that legacy. It is a stunningly designed vehicle that boasts a 3.5-liter V6 engine that produces 660 horsepower and can reach a top speed of 216 mph. The GT’s carbon fiber construction and active aerodynamics make it an incredibly agile and responsive car on the road, however, its race-inspired suspension and advanced driving aids ensure that it’s also a comfortable and safe ride. With its limited production numbers and undeniable pedigree, the Ford GT is a true American supercar that is sure to impress even the most critical European automotive enthusiasts.

Another car I chose to put on this list of American supercars is the Chevrolet Corvette Z06. The Chevrolet Corvette has been an American icon for decades, but the latest Z06 model takes the Corvette’s performance to new heights. It features a supercharged 6.2-liter V8 engine that produces an impressive 650 horsepower and 650 lb-ft of torque. This allows the Z06 to go from 0-60 mph in just 2.95 seconds, making it one of the fastest American supercars on the market. But the Z06 isn’t just about straight horsepower; it also has an advanced highly technical suspension system and a range of advanced driving aids that make it a great choice to drive on both the road and the track.

The third and my personal favorite American supercar is the Dodge Viper ACR. The Dodge Viper has always been a car for most extreme car enthusiasts, and the ACR (American Club Racer) took that tradition to the extreme. It is powered by an 8.4-liter V10 engine that produces 645 horsepower and 600 lb-ft of torque, making it one of the most powerful American supercars ever made. But what really sets the ACR apart is its advanced aerodynamics and suspension tuning. It features a massive rear wing and a range of other aerodynamic components that help it generate up to 1,700 pounds of downforce at high speeds. And with its adjustable suspension system and specialized race tires, the ACR is able to put all that power and downforce to the ground with incredible precision and control. The ACR also embodies the proper look of a supercar and the wing creates an unforgettable shape to the car.

Another more unique car on this list is the Hennessy Venom F5 The Hennessy Venom F5 is a completely new player in the American supercar scene, but it has already made a big impact. It is powered by a twin-turbocharged V8 engine that produces an astonishing 1,817 horsepower and 1,193 lb-ft of torque. This makes it one of the most powerful cars in the world, and it has the performance to match. The Venom F5 can accelerate from 0-60 mph in just 2.6 seconds and reach a top speed of over 311 mph. But the Venom F5 isn’t just about straight-line speed; it also has advanced aerodynamics and a sophisticated suspension system that make it a true driver’s car to the point where many consider it to be on the same level of power and speed as cars like the Bugatti Veyron.

The final supercar from America I chose for this list is the SSC Tuatara. The SSC Tuatara is another newcomer to the American supercar scene, but it has already made headlines for its impressive performance. It is powered by a twin-turbocharged V8 engine that produces 1,750 horsepower and 1,280 lb-ft of torque, making it one of the most powerful cars in the world. The Tuatara also has a sleek and aerodynamic design that helps it achieve a top speed of over 300 mph, making it one of the top supercars in the world, and much like the Hennessy F5 it is a world-class supercar.

The Best Italian Sports Cars

For my automotive-centric blog post this week I decided to focus on some of the best sports cars made in Italy. Italy has long been known for producing some of the world’s most flashy and high-performance sports cars. These iconic vehicles have captured the hearts of car enthusiasts around the globe with their sleek design, powerful engines, and incredible handling. In this post, we will take a closer look at four of the most influential and popular Italian sports cars.

The first Italian sports car I wanted to mention is the Ferrari 458 Italia. The Ferrari 458 Italia is widely regarded as one of the best Italian sports cars ever made. This car is powered by a 4.5-liter V8 engine that produces 562 horsepower, which allows it to reach speeds of up to 202 miles per hour. The 458 Italia also features advanced aerodynamics, including a front spoiler and rear diffuser, which helps to reduce drag and improve downforce. One of the most impressive things about the Ferrari 458 Italia is its handling. The car features a very advanced suspension system that provides excellent control and feedback, making it a joy to drive on any twisty or mountainous roads. The interior is also luxurious, with leather-trimmed seats, a touchscreen infotainment system, and a modern climate control system and sound system. Overall, the Ferrari 458 Italia is a masterpiece of Italian engineering that offers a great blend of speed, style, and performance.

Another iconic Italian sports car is the Lamborghini Aventador. This car features a 6.5-liter V12 engine that produces 691 horsepower, allowing it to accelerate from 0 to 60 miles per hour in just 2.9 seconds. The Aventador also features advanced four-wheel drive and traction control systems, which provide unparalleled handling and control which helps the car be controlled easily at high speeds. One of the most striking features of the Lamborghini Aventador is its sharp, aggressive design. This car is a true head-turner, with sharp lines and a low, wide stance that exudes power and performance. The interior is equally impressive, with a driver-focused cockpit and high-quality materials throughout. The car also turns heads due to how loud the exhaust is as Aventador are one of the loudest cars being produced. Overall, the Lamborghini Aventador is a supercar that offers the perfect blend of speed, style, and technology.

The Maserati MC20 is a new addition to the Italian sports car scene, but it’s already making its name known with its impressive performance and sleek design. This car is powered by a 3.0-liter twin-turbo V6 engine that produces 621 horsepower, allowing it to reach speeds of up to 202 miles per hour. The MC20 also features advanced (but not active) aerodynamics, including a rear diffuser and active front splitter, which help to reduce drag and improve downforce making the car accelerate faster and handle better. One of the most notable things about the Maserati MC20 is its exterior design. This car is sleek and stylish, with a low, wide stance and aggressive front grille which is unique to the car. The interior is also impressive, with racing trim seats, carbon fiber panels, and a luxury infotainment system. Overall, the Maserati MC20 is a sports car that offers a solid blend of a luxury car and a sports car and while it doesn’t reach the level of a Lamborghini or Ferraris it is still an amazing Italian car.

The Pagani Huayra is a rare and exclusive Italian sports car that is as beautiful as it is powerful. The Huayra is powered by a twin-turbocharged 6.0-liter V12 engine that produces 720 horsepower, allowing it to reach top speeds of 238 miles per hour. The Huayra also features advanced active aerodynamics, including active flaps that adjust to the car’s speed and driving conditions. One of the most impressive things about the Pagani Huayra is its design. The car features a unique, aerodynamic shape that is both beautiful and functional. The interior is also a work of art, with hand-stitched leather seats and dash. Overall, the Pagani Huayra is arguably the flashiest Italian sports car ever as it was essentially built to me more of an art piece than a car.

The best Sports cars of the 90s

The 1990s was an amazing period of change in the automotive industry, and it was also a golden era for sports cars. During this time, car manufacturers pushed the limits of design, technology, and performance to create some of the most iconic sports cars in the history of automotives. In this post, we will take a closer look at the best sports cars of the 1990s.

The first car that I chose which really shows what made the 90s great for cars is a Japanese coupe called the RX-7. The Mazda RX-7 was was in production from 1978 to 2002. The third generation of the RX-7, which was produced from 1992 to 2002, (Seen in the Picture below) is often considered the best. It’s highest trim was equipped with a twin-turbocharged rotary engine that produced 276 horsepower and was capable of reaching 60 mph in just 4.8 seconds. The RX-7 was praised for its nimble handling and outstanding balance, making it a favorite among track driving enthusiasts. However it did have its flaws and was known to be expensive to maintain due to reliability issues with its special rotary engine.

Another car that immediately makes me think of the 90s is The Acura NSX, also known as the Honda NSX in other markets, was a sports car that was produced from 1990 to 2005 but recently was actually remade and sold by Acura in 2022. It was designed to be a supercar in that era but one that was more reliable and user-friendly than its European counterparts such as Lamborghini and Ferrari. The NSX was powered by a 3.0-liter V6 engine that produced 270 horsepower, and it was equipped with a five-speed manual or a four-speed automatic transmission. The NSX was praised for its handling, balance, and engineering, making it a popular choice for both drivers and car critics alike. It also displayed very little issues with reliability and showed that honda could make cars fast while still keeping them extremely reliable.

Arguably now the most famous tuner car of the 90s, The Toyota Supra was a Japanese sports car that was produced from 1978 to 2002. The fourth generation of the Supra, which was produced from 1993 to 2002, is often considered the best. It was equipped with a turbocharged 3.0-liter inline-six engine known as the “2JZ” that produced 320 horsepower and was capable of reaching 60 mph in just 4.6 seconds. The Supra was praised for its excellent handling and balance, which helped it put down its power making it a favorite for tuning and being built for racing.

The first European car on the list which I believe really deserves this spot is The Porsche 911, which has been in production since 1963, is one of the most iconic sports cars in history. The 993 generation of the 911, which was produced from 1993 to 1998, is often considered the best. This is really saying a lot as the 911 has been one of the most popular sports cars since the concept was first created. This very popular version of the car was powered by a 3.6-liter air-cooled flat-six engine that produced 270 horsepower and was equipped with a six-speed manual or a four-speed automatic transmission. The 993 was praised for its timeless design, outstanding performance, excellent handling, and surprising reliability compared to previous porches.

Another car not made only in the 90s but perfected then was The Chevrolet Corvette, which has been in production since 1953. The 90s Corvette was The fourth generation of the Corvette, and was produced from 1983 to 1996, and is often considered the best Corvette model. It was equipped with a 5.7-liter V8 engine that produced 300 horsepower and was capable of reaching 60 mph in just 5.0 seconds. The Corvette was praised for its affordable price, outstanding performance, and fast sleek look.

The final car on the list is one many have not heard of but may be the fastest on the list. The Mitsubishi 3000GT VR-4, also known as the Dodge Stealth in North America, was a Japanese sports car that was produced from 1990 to 2001. The 3000GT VR-4 was equipped with a twin-turbocharged 3.0-liter V6 engine that produced 320 horsepower and was capable of reaching 60 mph in just 5.0 seconds. The 3000GT VR-4 was praised for its all-wheel drive system which was very advanced for the time and gave the VR-4 an amazing quarter mile time and potential for tuning. The car was also known for having active aerodynamics, and advanced technology throughout the cabin, making it a great choice for anyone who wants a fun car.

Graduation Day- Matthew Zupruder

Right from the beginning of the poem, it was clear that the speaker is a student who’s taking part in graduation day. This was clearly due to the author Matthew Zapruder’s description where he

says “From sleep I woke and stepped into the borrowed black robes”. This tipped me off to whom the narrator was right away as they were talking in first person about black borrowed robes which pretty much only would fit the description of someone getting ready for graduation.

Another thing I noticed at the beginning of the poem was that while graduation day is usually described as a positive life-changing event celebrating your work towards your future, Zapruder instead chose to present the event in a very bleak manner and as “an obligation”.

The negative tone surrounding graduation created by Zapruder’s diction continues as he consistently chooses to use dark adjectives to describe the events of his graduation day even at the beginning selecting the robe to be black which is not abnormal for a graduation robe color but considering the other dark choices it seems intentional. One of these choices which helped really solidify the dark tone of the poem was the choice of the Narrator’s car also being black. While I still have not completely narrowed down why exactly Zapruder chose to use this diction, it is clear that it continues the tone set before by choosing to call the day an obligation and making the robe that the narrator and students wear black.

I saw that This thematic idea/ sense of darkness continues as the narrator goes on after talking about the narrator driving to the stadium in his black car and begins describing what he sees when watching the graduation ceremony take place. One important piece of Zaprudders description of graduation was that he chose to not describe it how a cliché graduation day would be, with a mix of sadness for leaving high school and childhood behind and excitement for future endeavors in life. Zapruder instead describes how people are going through the graduation lines, getting their diplomas and graduating “with dread certainty” which made me think the author has to be trying to show some issue he has with the school system or the idea of graduation day as a whole. The Idea I believe Zapruder may be trying to convey is the problem of forced/ encouraged conformity in our society and people’s lack of excitement for the future as a result of it.

Another part of the poem which continued this idea was even more difficult to understand than the first vague hint at theme and tone, was when Zapruder continues with the narrator’s monologue on their reactions to graduation and what they took away from their time in High school. “Your welcome for allowing us not to tell you it’s already too late to learn anything or defend whatever accidental instrument in us causes all these useless thoughts.“ This part I really had to re-read a few times, but after going back through the poem from the beginning and considering the first hints at the narrator’s opinion of school being negative, I came to the conclusion that the narrator is trying to portray frustration with schoolwork or the way of thinking that is promoted in high school. I however am still not 100% sure of this line’s meaning though as it is worded in a vague way and the author did not expand on the idea directly again in the poem.

I also saw this frustration described by Zapruder when he is complaining about his lack of interest in school as the author describes the thinking he did in school as peaceful disinterest. The author then goes on to use figurative language, comparing the feeling of school to being dismissed by your parents like you are a child, helping convey the sense of unimportance it made him feel. “with our endless attention built, you could almost feel the same peaceful disinterest as when your parents talking and smoking raised their heads for a moment to smile and tell you go back upstairs and read the book” This quote clearly shows Zapruder’s intention with the negative tone the poem gives school as he compares his thinking from it directly to an instance where someone is faking interest.

The ending of the author’s commentary on society and seemingly the schooling of the future really drove home the thematic idea of societies’ need for educational change and just change in general. Zapruder says “go forget everything we told you so you can fix what we kept destroying by calling the future.” This is the clearest and best show of Zapruder’s claim of unimportance as this idea essentially says that past generations have done things worse, and we should not aim to be like those before us, which is again saying that our current system is not where it should be and that people will be doomed to repeat the mistakes of the last generation if we don’t change how we teach the next one.

The Best Rally Cars of all time (Blog #1)

The Best Rally Cars of all time

For my blog post this week I decided to find the best Rally cars of all time.  Rally cars are vehicles built especially to compete in rally racing, a form of motorsport that takes place on small curvy roads known for large elevation changes and hairpin turns. Because of this, These cars are designed to be fast and agile, capable of navigating through a variety of terrains, from paved roads to dirt tracks and gravel roads. In this essay, we will take a look at some of the best rally cars in history.

One of the first cars that came to my mind when thinking about rally cars is the Subaru Impreza WRX. This car dominated the World Rally Championship (WRC) during the late 1990s and early 2000s, also winning the manufacturers’ title three times in a row from 1995 to 1997. The Impreza WRX STI was known for its powerful inline 4 turbocharged engine, all-wheel drivetrain, and advanced suspension system. The car also featured a lightweight body and aerodynamic design, which helped it achieve high speeds on the rally course and maintain traction. All of these reasons made the Impreza WRX STI’s a favorite among rally enthusiasts and all car enthusiasts.

Another iconic but less modern rally car is the Lancia Delta Integrale. This car won six consecutive manufacturers’ titles in the WRC from 1987 to 1992, making it one of the most successful rally cars of all time. The Delta Integrale featured a powerful turbocharged engine with all-wheel drivetrain, which gave it excellent traction and handling on a variety of terrains, including everything from sand to snow. The car also had a lightweight body and advanced suspension system similar to the Impreza’s, which helped it navigate through the often tight and twisty rally stages. The Lancia Delta Integrale’s combination of power and handling in such an early time made it the best rally car of its years, especially in the 80s.

The Ford Escort RS Cosworth is another car that is often mentioned when discussing the best rally cars of all time. This car was built specifically for rally racing, and it won the manufacturers’ title in the WRC in 1997. The Escort RS Cosworth was powered by a turbocharged engine that produced over 200 horsepower. It featured all-wheel drive, advanced suspension, and an aerodynamic design with a wing and lowered suspension. The car’s combination of power and its closeness to the ground made it a favorite among rally drivers, and it is still considered one of the best-handling rally cars of all time.

One German rally car that definitely deserves a mention is the Audi Quattro. This car was one of the first rally cars to feature all-wheel drive, which gave it an advantage over its competitors on slippery and loose surfaces because it essentially had double the traction of its competitors. The Audi Quattro also featured a turbocharged engine and lowed suspension system, which helped it navigate through tight and twisty rally stages. The car’s combination of power and handling made it a formidable competitor on the rally circuit, and it won the manufacturers’ title in the WRC in 1982 and 1984.

Finally saving the best, and my personal favorite for last the Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution was another one of the most dominant cars in rally motorsports. The Evo, like most on this list, was built specifically for rally racing, and it dominated the WRC during the 2000s. The Evo won the manufacturers’ title in 2001 and 2002. The Lancer Evolution featured a powerful turbocharged engine, all-wheel drive, and advanced suspension system much like the Subaru, however, the lancer was mainly known for its engine performance when tuned.

Cars such as the Subaru Impreza WRX STI, Lancia Delta Integrale, Ford Escort RS Cosworth, Audi Quattro, and Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution have all won manufacturers’ titles and have become legends in the world of rally racing. These cars have set the standard for the sport throughout history and are responsible for what rally racing has become today

My Last Blog of 2022

  My Last Blog of 2022

Throughout my senior year of high school, I have not only learned a lot about myself as a student but also about myself as a person and about my future interests in both college and after. One of the most important things I believe I learned about myself with school and my study habits this semester was that I actually can get work done on my own and teach myself certain subjects. The main reason I had the opportunity to come to this realization is that I took 3 total blended classes. It wasn’t my first time taking blended classes, but the last time I took them freshman year I thought that I had too much trouble being responsible enough to do my work often enough to get the grades I wanted, so I was a bit worried I might have the same issues this semester. Thankfully, my work ethic has significantly improved since freshman year, and I was actually able to do my assignments on time and be prepared for tests and quizzes, even when I was responsible for preparing for them and had no in-class review. This definitely has made me feel more confident about college because I know that I can trust myself to be able to study on my own when I am on my own and completely responsible for my schedule and schoolwork. I also believe that learning this helped prepare me for when I start working because in pretty much every career there are responsibilities and work that will fall solely on you, and in blended classes, I got to experience a lot more of that independent work.

Sadly it was not all just positive experiences, throughout this semester I have had a lot of bumps in the road and times when I was stressed about school. However, the one main thing which caused me a lot of stress and stuck out the most was definitely the college application process. The amount of essay-centric writing was terrible. The essays themselves were not super long but the main issue was the pressure to answer the questions perfectly with such seemingly little space to explain. I hated having to try to condense everything I wrote, and I feel that if I was not lucky enough to have had a tutor to help look over my essays and talk to me about them, I would have had an even more difficult time. This process combined with the already present stress of schoolwork was really tough and definitely made this semester harder than any of the others I have had so far.

Another negative thing that noticed about myself and my work during this semester, is that I struggle more when it comes to high-level math-centric topics like economics and statistics than in classes like APUSH or AP Language or Literature. I had noticed this before as I had usually had to put more work into my math classes than others but this year really showed me that I am usually not very good at math classes. I, for some reason, have had a pretty hard time paying attention and retaining the information I learn during AP Micro and AP Stats. I found that when I studied for Statistics and Microeconomics on my own I actually was able to learn the material quite a bit better. However, I still noticed I kept falling short a lot of the grades I would aim for on tests because I struggled to remember the different rules for both Stats calculations and the graphs we had to use in Microeconomics

In general, I believe my semester was a relatively good experience and that it taught me a lot. Even though it was pretty stressful, and I have never worked as hard inside and outside of school as I did during this year, I am proud of the work that I produced, and I feel much better about my work ethic and academic abilities than I have in the past.

3 of the Fastest SUVs in Production

For this week’s car-related blog post I decided to continue finding cars that were fast for what they were designed for but, instead of Ranking the fastest Front Wheel Drive cars like last week, I decided to research what the fastest most currently made Production SUVs are. I chose this for one simple reason, Because usually when you think of an SUV you think of a boring car for people with families and normal lives, so it is very intriguing to me when a car company decides to build one as an expensive high-speed focused sports car instead.

The first high-performance SUV on the list is the Tesla Model X plaid which is the fastest accelerating SUV on the list and arguably the fastest overall SUV in the world. The car is powered by 4 electric motors and is able to complete a quarter-mile run in 9.8 seconds at 148 miles per hour which is an extremely impressive feat for any car let alone an electric SUV weighing in easily over 2 tons. While The plaid does not have the traditional sleek luxurious exterior of most sports cars of its caliber it makes up for it in the interior which is equipped with all of Tesla’s best technology and creature comforts (Which is most of the reason it weighs over 5000 pounds). The Tesla Model X plaid also is the least expensive of the cars on this list having an MSRP of $138,990 which may sound high at first but after comparing the price to the other cars near its level of performance it is actually a very good deal.

The second sports-oriented SUV I found for this list is the Porsche Cayenne Turbo GT. The Porsche is powered by a twin-turbo V8 engine built by Audi’s performance engineering division, and it is the second-fastest accelerating SUV on the list. The car has 631 hp and is able to make a quarter mile run in 11.1 seconds at 124 miles per hour which is an extremely impressive feat for any car let alone an SUV weighing in easily over 2 tons. The Porsche while being slightly slower than the Plaid, it does make up for it in style as both the interior and exterior of the Porsche Cayenne look much more luxurious and much more like what you would expect to see on a sports car. This combined with the engine not being electric causes the price tag to be a bit higher than the plaid at an MSRP of $188,700 which is not that high of a markup considering Porsche makes very high-quality cars that are designed with a higher focus on the customer’s experience and attention to detail than the Tesla is.

The third and final performance SUV I chose to put on this list is the Lamborghini Urus. The Urus is powered by a twin-turbo V8 engine that puts out 641 horsepower, and it is the slowest accelerating SUV on the list. The Lamborghini Urus is able to make a quarter mile run in 11.3 seconds at 120.8 miles per hour which while still being the slowest out of the three cars is still a very respectable statistic considering the Urus is the heaviest out of the three. The Urus also has a very luxurious interior made from handstitched leather and a sporty exterior similar to the Porsche, but it beats both of the first cars in the way that it sounds. Lamborghini is known for making cars that sound loud and amazing and this SUV is no different and came with an exhaust system that helped amplify the sound of the engine. The Urus even though the slowest of the three is the most expensive with an MSRP of $221,506 which is almost completely because of the fact that the car was made by Lamborghini.

The 3 Fastest Front Wheel Drive Cars

For my car themed blog post this week I decided to make a list of the top 3 best front wheel  drive cars. I chose this as this subject for this week because I personally usually drive a front wheel drive car and know they are usually slower. Before we get into actually naming the top 3 front wheel drive cars I first want to explain what I mean when I say a car has Front wheel drive. Frond wheel drive means that essentially your car’s engine’s power goes only towards your front two wheels. This means that your car loses out on the momentum gains of having A car that spins all of its wheels or that pushes from the back with only the rear tires. However, even though it is slower it actually results in a more efficient use of the car’s power and saves on fuel since less power is used to move the car. This combination of efficiency and low speed made me wonder what cars had a Front wheel drivetrain but also still had the ability to actually go fast.

One of the fastest cars I could find that is front wheel drive was the 2018 Audi S3. While this car may not have only come in front wheel drive The S3 came with a strong performance engine and transmission which in total create an output of 292 horsepower. This power and transmission allowed the S3 can accelerate from to 60 mph in 4.7 seconds which is a very fast time and unheard of for a car with a front wheel drive train. Audi is much more well known for making their highest performance cars with All wheel drive, so it surprised when I found out that they actually made one of the fastest production front wheel drive cars to ever exist. The S3 totaled out to a cost of $45,000 which is steep considering the car’s performance but is not a complete rip off.

The second car I found with a Front wheel drive train that had a very impressive amount of power is the 2021 Mini John Cooper Works Grand Prix edition. While this car may look like a boxy smart car it is actually very well made with an amazing luxury interior and very strong performance parts in almost every area of the car. The Mini has a total of 301 horsepower being created from its turbocharged four cylinder engine which gets the tiny box car to 60 mph in the exact same time as the Audi S3 I previously mentioned, 4.7 seconds. While this car had no statistical performance differences to the S3 the Mini Cooper costs almost $20,000 more. This however is completely justifiable as the Mini Cooper definitely is much more specifically designed for racing as it has specific suspension and breaks to optimize handling, and it also has a more aggressive racing design present in the interior and exterior design of the car.

The third and final car on the list that I have found that aimed and succeeded in its goals of being a performance front wheel drive car is the Hyndai Veloster N DCT. The Veloster N can reach 0-60 in 4.8 seconds and comes equipped with an inline four cylinder that makes 349 hp and is combined with a dual clutch 8 speed automatic transmission which really is what helped make the car so fast. These additional points of performance were very necessary for the Veloster N as not while not only being Front wheel drive it was quite heavy and needs the extra power to keep up with cars like the Audi S3 or The John Cooper Works edition Mini Cooper. However, even with these Upgrades the Veloster N actually comes in at the lowest price point, 34,000 which is extremely impressive considering both of the other cars cost almost $10,000 more.

3 of the Best New Electric Vehicles

3 of the Best New Electric Vehicles

For my car themed blog post this week I decided that we should go off randomly a bit and make a list of some of the electric vehicles I’ve found that are the most interesting or impressive. I thought this would be an interesting concept because I typically never look at electric cars and this gives me an opportunity to learn something new while writing this.

The first electric car I saw that I saw and wanted to take a closer look at was the Cybertruck by Tesla. I thought the car looked way too overly futuristic and strange but after second thought I should give it a chance since Tesla is the most established EV brand because it meant the car must be at least as reliable as the last models. Luckily tesla did not disappoint as the Cybertruck even without the smaller lighter weight body of a normal sports car is soon to be one of the fastest cars they produce. The Tri Motor trim of the Cybertruck will have the ability to go 0-60 in just over 3 seconds while keeping a range of 500 miles which is extremely impressive for such a heavy vehicle with so much speed and towing capability. Another insane fact about the Cybertruck is that in its highest form the vehicle should only host around 80,000 which may sound steep but when compared to the next 2 cars on this list you will begin to understand how impressive that really is.

The second electric car I found being produced which sounded very interesting is the lotus Evija. If you haven’t heard of lotus, they make very expensive cars that are known for their speed and racing abilities, so I knew that this car must be special in some way. I was right, the car looks like something out of a Tron movie and actually has the numbers to back it up considering the 2000 hp supercar can reach its government limited top speed of 186 mph in just 9.1 seconds. However, with all this speed the car does lose out on practicality much like a gas-powered car with similar amounts of power the Evija’s range is only 215 miles on a full charge. This is an issue as most electric cars out now have a much higher range. However, I still think the car is good for what it was made for because people would not be taking a car as impractical as this on a road trip.

The third and final Electric vehicle on this list is the Porsche Taycan Turbo S and while it may not look as futuristic (or even downright strange depending on who you ask) as the last two cars I have discussed for this post it actually is the very well performing as it has both 300 miles of range and a 0-100 kph time of only 2.8 seconds. To put that into perspective the Lotus previously mentioned which costs almost 2.5 million dollars can go 0-60 in 2.8 seconds. This is extremely impressive considering the Taycan Turbo S costs right around 2.3 million less than the lotus Evija does.

One thing which I did not expect to learn while making this list is that the best Electric car brand is most undisputedly tesla right now. This is seen clearly as even though the brand-new electric car market is being flooded with many different competing brands Tesla, the company which really built the Electric car hype is still by far the best brand as they are able to still produce the fastest most inexpensive and reliable cars out of any of the other manufacturers.

The Worst Sports Cars Ever Built

The Worst Sports Cars Ever Built

Many people dream of owning their own “sports car” and while they look cool and are usually made better sometimes they are actually made much worse than people expected. This is because many people who like the idea of owning a sports car don’t do enough research before buying a car and realize that the car they chose solely based on looks has horrible gas mileage and is as slow as a snail.

One of the most well-known sports cars of all time is the DeLorean (AKA DMC-12). We all know it mainly because of back to the future, but slightly before the film franchise made the car famous, the DeLorean was known for a few other less glamorous things. The main thing it was known for was that, while the car looked very much like a sports car due to its flashy futuristic design, its looks ended up sadly being just a ploy to draw in unsuspecting customers who did not know very much about cars. The main issue with the DeLorean was that the car simply just could not perform to the standard of other vehicles of its time period or even those that came over a decade before it. The car’s top speed was a measly 88 miles per hour and although the car itself was horrible to drive it at least was a good investment because back to the future it is now one of the most widely collected cars ever made.

Another “Sports car” that many were trapped into buying due to its sporty-looking build is the Hyundai Tiburon. This car unlike the DeLorean had no fame or image to fall back on for sales but due to the car’s sleek design which looks similar to many Japanese sports cars of the time many bought the car in the hopes that it would be a more inexpensive alternative to buying a more well-known sports car. The car had two main issues the first not being very serious; the Tiburon was simply slow as it only did 0-60 miles per hour in 7.7 seconds. Now that may not sound horrible but essentially every other sports car made since 2000 can pretty much reach 0-60 in 6 seconds at worst, with even some economy cars like civics and accords from the same year being able to go significantly faster than the Tiburion. Another much more significant issue with this fake sports car was that it was not up to the same build and safety standards as other competing sports cars in the early 2000s. The car was made from very inexpensive materials and those unfortunate enough to have bought it noticed immediately that the car’s interior was made of cheap plastic like most of the rest of the car. Due to these cheap materials, the car’s safety also took a dive with it being ranked the #8 deadliest car in America.

The third and final terrible sports car which I’ve brought to you today is the Pontiac Fiero. This car was mainly hated because most Americans universally liked how it looked and would compare it to the design of a Ferrari yet when they bought it they would find out that their car could not be further from Ferrari as the Fiero was considered arguable the slowest American sports car of its time. However, aside from these issues, the Fiero had one other issue which was the maintenance costs. This was mainly because while the quality of the car was not very special the parts used in the Fiero were hard to come by which meant if anything in the car broke you would have to pay more money than a cheap sports car should cost.
