Coincidence or Conspiracy

A key component of our wellbeing, the law and order that safeguards us from anarchy, our government is the supposed embodiment of our rights and safety. But what happens when the hand that dictates us is also the hand that harms us? What happens when the same laws set to keep us orderly are broken constantly by the ones who set them?

For right or wrong, these following historical events not taught in our history books will be excerpted to illustrate my point.

MK-Ultra, one of the darkest and strangest events in this nation’s history. It was a bizarre and lurid symbiosis between the seedy underworld of drugs and the intelligence agencies. Government sanctioned officials used their power to illegally experiment on citizens and continue experiments of Nazis in World War 2 to develop procedures used for brainwashing. A specific phase of MK-Ultra that particularly exemplified its nature was Operation Midnight Climax. The CIA would direct prostitutes to lure men into “safehouses”, or trick sick men into coming to a fake hospital for a supposed cure, then they would be unknowingly injected with large doses of LSD. Some patients were fed subliminal messages to induce them into performing involuntary actions, including criminal activity such as robbery, assault, and assassination. In other experiments, LSD induced patients would be shocked to dangerously high levels in an attempt to erase their memories. It seems sick and unthinkable that our own government would do such a thing to its citizens, but on top of that, some agents felt liberated through these acts. An agent named George White wrote to Gottlieb in 1971: “Of course I was a very minor missionary… but I toiled wholeheartedly in the vineyards because it was fun, fun, fun. Where else could a red-blooded American boy lie, kill and cheat, steal, deceive, rape, and pillage with the sanction and blessing of the All-Highest?”

In NPR’s article, “The CIA’s Secret Quest for Mind Control: Torture, LSD and a ‘Poisoner in Chief’, we read about Nazi scientists hired by the CIA: “MKUltra, was essentially a continuation of work that began in Japanese and Nazi concentration camps. Not only was it roughly based on those experiments, but the CIA actually hired the vivisectionists and the torturers who had worked in Japan and in Nazi concentration camps to come and explain what they had found out so that we could build on their research.”

We also read about the CIA committing war crimes: “CIA officers in Europe and Asia were capturing enemy agents and others who they felt might be suspected persons or otherwise, what they called expendable. They would grab these people and throw them into cells and then test all kinds of – not just drug potions but other techniques like electroshock, extremes of temperature, sensory isolation, all the meantime bombarding them with questions trying to see if they could break down resistance and find a way to destroy the human ego.”

Unfortunately, these facts only skim the surface of this case as the records from MK-Ultra were intentionally destroyed.

With no remorse, and almost no media coverage due to censorship and MK-Ultra labeled as a conspiracy theory, victims never got the justice, nor compensation they deserved. Children of MK-Ultra victims were reported to be abused, and criminals such as Ted Kaczynski budded from the aftereffects of this horrific experiment.

Not only this, but just as immoral was Operation Northwoods. In the early 1960s, America’s top military leaders reportedly drafted plans to kill innocent people and commit acts of terrorism in U.S. cities to create public support for a war against Cuba. Code named Operation Northwoods, the plans reportedly included the possible assassination of Cuban emigres, sinking boats of Cuba refugees, hijacking planes, blowing up a U.S. ship, and even orchestrating violent terrorism in U.S. cities. These types of false flag operations were approved by every military leader up to President Kennedy. This event exists as a chilling reminder that the U.S. military was once all-too-willing to deceive and attack its own citizens for political reasons.

Though unsuccessful thanks to Kennedy, the specific details documented in Operation Northwoods involved a lot of specific similarities to the 9/11 attack.

I will not go any further into details, but know that what’s best for the people, is not always best for the government.
